How to enable the notification mail function for a new work item type?

Ming Jie Cai (26135) | asked Sep 02 '13, 11:26 p.m.
Currently we are able to customize notification messages that are sent for the following work item types, "task""requirement""defect".
I am wondering if we can configure and customize the notification message for a kind of new work item type and how to do that.
Thanks in advance!

Hi Ming,

I'm guessing you are using version 3.x.  As Sam states, this mechanism has been centralized since 4.x and it's possible to use the same template for all WI types in the latest release:

https://jazz.net/help-dev/clm/topic/com.ibm.team.workitem.doc/topics/t_customizing_email_notifications.html

This change was made to address the limitations of the earlier implementation, as described here:

https://jazz.net/jazz/web/projects/Rational%20Team%20Concert#action=com.ibm.team.workitem.viewWorkItem&id=83059

I hope that helps,

John

by default there is only 1 message content for all workitems.

if you have something different, maybe someone customized the email template available since 4.0.1?
