IBM Installation manager (1.6.3 and 1.6.2) could not be installed in SUSE 11

Richar Cai (1711116) | asked Jun 01 '13, 7:57 p.m.

Dear Team,

I encounterred an error when I tried to install IBM IM to SUSE 11.

I tried both versions-1.6.3 and 1.6.2, these are the latest versions of IM but failed to install.

Could somebody help me? Thank you very much!

My operation system is:

richarcai@linux-f2do:/tmp/rtcInstSrc> uname -a
Linux linux-f2do 2.6.34-12-desktop #1 SMP PREEMPT 2010-06-29 02:39:08 +0200 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Below is the error message: it seems the problem related to JVM.

Can you verify that you have all the required libraries installed? Installing a 32 bit Installation Manager on a 64 bit system will require some 32 bit libraries to be installed for compatibility. Check the prerequisites off of this page to make sure you have the right libraries installed: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg24033586.

Hi Mark,

Thank you so much for your advice.

Actually, what I tried to install are 64 bits Installation manager softwares, as below:

agent.installer.linux.gtk.x86_64_1.6.3000.20130510_2243.zip
agent.installer.linux.gtk.x86_64_1.6.2000.20130301_2248.zip

Yes, you are right. I guess that it should be some libraries lost in my SUSE desktop operation system as I also could not install DB2 64bits on it. The Issue is related to the operation system not to the IM itself.

The problem got fixed finally.

I setup another server with SUSE11 enterprise server version x86_64 operation system (Not personal desktop version). At this time, I could install IM 64bits and RTC and DB2 on this server successfully.

Thanks again for your kindly reply and help!

Thanks & Best regards,

Richar Cai
