Burndown graph color

Marc-Aurele Brothier (111) | asked Jan 13 '10, 3:13 a.m.
Hey,

Is there a way to customize the color of the graph in RTC?
Because for example the burndown graph has a grey line for the "work planned" but it's not visible (or very hard to see) when you're projecting it with a beamer.

It would be nice to be able to customize these colors in the report template or somewhere else.

Hi Marco,

To do this, you'll need to modify the report design in the BIRT editor.
You can find the report design for all of our out-of-the-box reports in
the client installation, in the plug-in folder for
com.ibm.team.examples.reports.common. (Where this is depends on where
you installed it, and whether you used the zip install or the IM install).

The following wiki page (although it assumes you're creating a new
report from scratch, the principle is the same) walks you through the
prerequisites needed (BIRT, DTP, EMF, WTP) and the correct versions:

https://jazz.net/wiki/bin/view/Main/ReportsCreatingANewReport20

Import the Burndown.rptdesign into your workspace, open it with the BIRT
editor. Then edit the chart, find the palette, and change the grey to
whichever colour you want. Save the file.

After the .rptdesign file is saved, you'll need to upload it to the
report template on the server. In the rich client, expand Reports > Work
Items underneath the project area in question. Right-click on Burndown
and select properties. Under Contents, browse for your local modified
..rptdesign file. Press OK on the properties dialog and the new contents
will be uploaded.

Let me know if these steps don't work for you.
