DOORS to DNG Migration with links

Karthik Krishnan (8847121163) | asked Jun 11, 3:32 a.m.

We would like to import modules from DOORS to DNG. We also would like to take over the links between 2 modules (as "link to" in DNG).

We could use ReqIF to import modules but how can we take over the links?

If you create the ReqIF package and include the link modules as well as the source and destination modules, you should get links over as well

AFAIK if you truly are migrating (i.e. so you'll only do new work on the requirements in DOORS Next) then you should use Migration packages because the transfer is more comprehensive than ReqIF. You need to pay attention to preparing your data by aligning types in DOORS (Classic). But then links are migrated as expect, i.e. links within what you migrate are imported into DN, and links between the migrated and original content are maintained and moved to DN as you migrate more of the content from DOORS Classic.

Hello Karthik!

With DOORS9 to DOORS Next migrator tool by Softacus we are able to migrate links also cross-component (including cross-server for enterprise topology with 2+ RM applications). Custom link types creation and automated GC creation is also possible.

Kind regards, Rustam
