How is the sorting algorithm for "Planned For" realized

We've created a simple query in EWM to view all items over different iterations.

When executing the query and set it to "Ascending" sorting for "Planned For" the sorting of the results looks strange, because it's neither alphabetical nor by Start or End Date of the iteration.

Can somebody tell me the real sorting criteria behind this?

Thanks in advance for your support!

René

I am not sure how the sorting of planned for is done. I just would like to remind that in work item queries, there is only an option to sort ascending and descending. It does not say alphabetical.

Thanks for the hint Ralph. I've corrected the issue description.
