Ask a question

why new custom attributes can not show up in query of RTC

 Hi Someone who may concern,

We encountered a issue lately. We use structure of template project and target project ( process is Unconfigured Process). So when new changes happened, we will publish a new template project file and ask vendor of target project  to switch to direct by creating a new template project based this file. It can work properly for some time. And for template project, we already mark the checkbox "Final (ignore customization of this data in child project areas"

But when we switch to new template this time, which we defined 3 new custom attributes (Medium String type). We found in target project, we can not query on them. Our template project file is created in RTC 6.0.6.1 and we release it to one of the vendor, they create a new template project in their server (RTC 6.0.6). And they can query these 3 attributes in this template project, but when they made their target project switch to direct to this new template project, they can not query those 3 new attributes in their target project. They have tried to log off,log in, but it just did not show up.

However, we used this template project file in our prod server (RTC 6.0.6.1) to create a template project base on it, and make our target project direct to this new template project, we can query on those new attributes in our target project.

So our question is whether it is relevant to RTC version? or anything else which may impact the query function of RTC? why it can not query attributes in new template project?

    Thanks!

Best Regards,
Jane

Hi, Jane

What is the OS and language locale (Chinese, Japanese, English etc) of your RTC 6.0.6.1 server?
Have you restarted the server and see if the custom attributes can be queried after that? Once you create a new project, you would experience the same issue, is that right?

Hi Jane

If you have RTC 6.0.6.1 on Windows OS with Chinese locale, it is likely you hit the issue described in the below technote:
