RM Email notification not working in CLM Distributed Topology

We recently moved our CLM instance to a Distributed topology. RM now has its own server. It seems like email notification has stopped working. I have done a test email from jts, and it works fine. Is there anyway to test emails for RM specifically?

Add a comment to an artifact is a sure way to trigger an email notification. Check rm.log and look for any errors relating to email notification.
