Reports Customization: Multiple Attribute

I have a work item with multiple new attributes
What kind of data source can I create so I retrieve them all in one query ?
I see the sample shows me how to pass a string="name of my attribute" and I
receive the value.
Should I do one dataset for each attribute ?

Yes you should use one data set for each custom attribute and merge all the data sets in to one using a scripted data set.
