Can / Should I install an iFix before running Setup?

Larry McCarthy (2102224) | asked Sep 17 '15, 5:22 p.m.

Can - or should - I install the latest iFix before I start the server for the first time and run jts/setup?

It seems like it'd save a step. But I'm not sure it would work.

Thanks,
Larry.

 Hi Larry,

It is a good pratice to always have the latest iFix installed before running the setup or an upgrade. This will prevent you from running into any known defect that we already shipped in an iFix.

I would go further. You should absolutely deploy the latest iFix before running an upgrade as the iFix delivers fixes that may be needed during that upgrade.
