Can I Extract Test Script Steps Using Rational Insight?

Andrew Trobec (49713144139) | asked Sep 06 '13, 4:17 a.m.
Hello,

I am working with Insight for CLM 4.x and I would like to know whether it is possible to extract test script step information from the standard reporting data model.  Can I?

I am trying to create a simple report that extracts test scripts and their steps.  So:
Test Script 1 - Step 1 - Expected Result 1
Test Script 1 - Step 2 - Expected Result 2
Test Script 2 - Step 1 - Expected Result 1
...
Any information would be appreciated!

Best regards,

Andrew

Hello Andrew,

referencing the Quality management data dictionary:
http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/clmhelp/v4r0m3/topic/com.ibm.rational.test.qm.doc/topics/qm-roles.html

The test script step information is only available at the Test Case Result level through:
Operational Data Store > Execution Result Area > Execution Step Result

I think this a subset of the information that you need as the steps for a test script that has not been executed won't probably appear.

Getting the full step details would require a customization of the DW / ETL / Data model.

Best Regards
Francesco
